There are times during an investigation at which investigative questions arise requiring additional research to test the validity of an approach or finding. Pioneer Forensics LLC can assist you in evaluating the need and/or feasibility of such research. We can then utilize our research capabilities to address your questions or design a research project to test your theory. Most recently, Pioneer Forensics was contacted by an investigator with the Colorado Attorney General's Office and asked to test the feasibility of finding blood under several layers of paint. We set up a research project to test various detection methods as well as acceptable restoration methods to recover the blood from under four coats of paint. The success of that research opened new investigative options on a previously cold case. Other projects may include crime scene reconstruction, supporting literature and documentation for “Duabert” hearings, or recommended “best practices” strategies for the processing and recovery of evidence.

Our Senior Partners also have access to a vast library of forensic literature dating back to the early 1800's. Access to this material keeps our staff proficient in current and historical methods of criminal investigation and forensic testing, and has proven invaluable on many occasions. In addition, we have access to hundreds of scientific journals and thousands of scientific papers on a number of investigative and general science topics.
